EVENT POSTER for the event in Fullerton:

Chilean Fest 2013

This Orange County Chilean Fest is hosted Chilenos en el Sur de California AKA Chile America Sur de California, and will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 11 am to 9pm at Ted Craig Regional Park, 3300 S State College Blvd in Fullerton, California 92835. Pre-sale tickets $3.00,  Sames-day tickets $5.00. (Ted Craig Regional Park has a $5.00 entrance fee – per car, which pays for the parks upkeep).

Event highlights are:  Live musical performances by Daysi Olmos, Ivan Marcelo V., Boccadin and event DJ.   Plus performances of Chilean folklore by Grupo Folklorico Chile America Sur de California. There will also be contests, games and raffles.

Chile America Sur de California is a nonprofit organization, whose volunteers work with the goal of promoting and make known our Chilean culture in a safe, respectful,  family-friendly environment. They also attempt to help and be a source of information-resources to the Chilean community who reside in Southern California. They request all interested parties to join their Facebook page or to call (949) 292-7194 or  (714) 469-2964.

As for the Chilean dance classes, on the Facebook page of Chile America Sur de California it’s been listed el Grupo Folklorico Chile America Sur de California. They began these classes back in March of 2013 (this year, being their second year of dance).  The invitation is open to all who want to learn the native dances of Chile (cueca elegante, cueca brava, bailes del sur y norte de Chile). The lessons are free and will culminate in a presentation this 18th of September. General directions:

(1) From the San Fernando Valley:  Take 101 Southbound to 60 East (towards Pomona)  MERGE onto 57 South/Orange Fwy (towards Santa Ana). Then take 90/Imperial Hwy exit toward Brea. Turn Right onto 90 W/ Imperial Hwy.  Take the first left onto South State College Blvd (signs for Craig Park). Make a U-turn at East Rosalia Dr.

(2) From San Diego: Take the Interstate 5 (towards Santa Ana) Merge 57 North (toward Pomona) take the Yorba Linda Blvd Exit. Turn left onto Yorba Linda Blvd. Turn right onto N. State College Blvd

Chilenazo 2013

The event 18 de Septiembre Independencia de Chile is hosted by El Chilenazo, and will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2013 from 11 am to 11 pm at the Disabled American Veterans Hall 6524 Corbin Avenue, Woodland Hills, CA 91367.  General admission prices : Adults $15.00,  Children $7.00

Event highlights are:  Live musical performances by Sajama, La Noche de America, Dazer,  with Master of Ceremony and dance music by DJ Niko. Plus performances of Chilean Grupo Folklorico by Lejos de Mi Tierra. There will also be contests,  soccer tournament, games and raffles.

Directions: off the Freeway 101, exit at Tampa Avenue, travel north on Tampa towards Victory Blvd. Make a left onto Victory, when arrive at Corbin  make a right. Destination will be Disabled American Veterans Hall, between Victory and Vanowen.

EL RIncon Chileno 2013

A Chilean restaurant that has been in Los Angeles since the late 1960’s, El Rincon Chileno will hosts its annual patriotic days’ celebrations Septiembre Patrio in a sit-down restaurant setting (reservations are recommended).  El Rincon Chileno sends it’s yearly patriotic anniversary greetings to the Los Angeles’ Chilean community and invites them to the following round of food, music and dance related celebrations:

Wednesday, Sept 18 – 8pm Dinner Celebration with a presentation of the Chilean National Hymn and traditional Chilean folklore music and dances plus live music and dancing.

Saturday Sept 21  –  FONDA with an open menu – – live music and dancing till 2am

Sunday Sept 22  –  from 12noon to 5pm a Chilean Brunch with traditional plates from Chile
