On Febuary 27, 2010 an 8.8 earthquake stuck off the coast of Chile. Nacional Records founder Tomas Cookman was actually in Chile with Argentina’s Los Fabulosos Cadillacs at Viña del Mar for the festival when the earthquake struck. Nacional Records then put together a benefit CD assembled by various Chilean artists with proceeds going to earthquake relief.
The CD consist of 11 songs for $5.99, which is a deal since the songs are sold individually for $0.99 each. You might notice that several of the songs are actually from Violeta Parra being interpreted by modern Chilean musicians.
