On March 7, 2012 Francisca Valenzuela played an intimate concert at R Bar (Koreatown) in the city of Los Angeles. We found out that Francisca was playing our city through her Facebook page. We were excited and she was going to do two nights in this visit. One night at Genghis Cohen and one night at R Bar(RSVP). We decided to see her for her RSVP show that was sponsored by Sala De Espera Radio. R Bar is a small dark bar that had great atmosphere. Mexican singer, Fernanda Ulibarri opened up for Francisca and played several songs on a piano, sometimes accompanied by a saxophone. Fernanda was success in warming up the crowd and even played a fantastic cover from Argentina’s Soda Stereo.
Francisca then quickly took the stage and played her set. She played a mix of songs selected from both of her albums, Muerdate La Lengua and Buen Soldado. Francisca charmed the crowd with songs like Quiero Verte Mas, Dulce, and Que Seria. Francisca also had a special treat for us Angelinos, she did a cover of Violeta Parra’s Run Run Se Fue Pal Norte. We at Fundi2 have several clips from the concert and hope you enjoy her music. A blend of acoustic versions splendidly done by the guapisima, Francisca. Splendidly done because you could feel the power of her femininity. We sure did.
We were also pleasantly surprised as when we went to speak to Francisca before her show, she promptly remembered us and our blog Fundi2 (a personal proud moment)! We read that Francisca did well at SXSW and wish her the best on her current tour through Mexico.
