Ana Tijoux (Anamaria Merino) is a French Chilean rapper whom gaining international momentum with her music. Ana was born to a Chilean father in France. She visited Chile after the fall of the dictatorship and was drawn into the emerging hip-hop scene in Santiago. She has been part of/linked to several Chilean rap groups (Zaturno, Tiro de Gracia, Makiza, & Aluzinati) before breaking out as a solo artist. In 2007, she grabbed the attention of MTV whom nominated her under Best New Artist and Best Urban Artist. She also corroborated with Mexican artist Julieta Venegas with her huge hit “Eres para mi”.
She is on route to play at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August (she previously played Lollapalooza in Chile earlier this year) before coming to Los Angeles. Weget to see her for FREE!
